The most common EAS Range Rover issues are leaking and dry rotted air bags, and damaged height sensors. The bags begin to leak at 100,000 miles or 6 years of age in most climates. Though not an issue in Southern California, the sensors get damaged by winter salt intrusion in snow country. They can also suffer damage by being pulled beyond their travel limits when the wheels are dangled when lifted at the shop. Our mechanics know to pay careful attention so that the bags do not pull away and deflate. One solution is to guide the airbag together. Otherwise it may be necessary for a Testbook reset. Classic models have a disable switch under the right front seat that should always be switched off before lifting. Opening the door slightly in other models will disable that system.
Are you seeing a small notebook on your Range Rover’s dash? Many times climate control problems are indicated by the appearance of a notebook in the display window on the control panel. New Rover climate control systems have a good self-diagnostic system built in. In order to avoid running the costly dedicated test system —Autologic or Testbook – we can check the relays for burned out bulbs and hopefully solve this a minor issue.
If you are noticing two different sides of the car running two different temperatures, then your Range Rover may have a servo failure. The servo motors mix hot and cold air to regular internal temperature.
Your Range Rover may be leaking from the heater core seal rings – and this is very common among Range Rovers. If you are noticing coolant smell, wetness on the right side floor or antifreeze drips behind the right front wheel, bring your Rover to FixCarNow and let us take a look.
