Replacement of timing belts are another repair we see frequently at FixCarNow. The timing belt keeps the valves and the pistons working in a precise order. Each valve and piston combination must push down on the individual cams on a camshaft at just the right time. When the timing belt breaks, the engine grinds to a halt. While some newer vehicles have timing belts that should last the life of the vehicles, an approximate interval for change otherwise is around 60,000 miles. Check your manual for the specifics for your Mercedes.
Another common maintenance job we see is the tuneup. A tune up involves replacing the air filter, replacing or cleaning the spark plugs, and replacing the distributor cap and rotor. If you have a newer Mercedes with platinum spark plugs, they will not need to be replaced at every tuneup as they are designed to last 60,000 to 100,000 miles. A tune up can also include replacement of the spark plug wires, fuel filter, PCV valve, and oxygen sensor. A yearly tuneup is a great idea as it allows our mechanics to check various systems in your Mercedes and make sure they are in working order.
Any repair we perform at FixCarNow maintains your new car warranty. Additionally, all of our services come with a two year warranty of their own. Many of our diagnostics are free including brake checks. When you bring your Mercedes to us for an oil change, we provide free top and fill of any fluids and air for your tires in between oil changes. Although we provide same day service, for those repairs that will take longer, we are happy to provide shuttle service and free loaner cars.
