Your Lexus may have all-wheel disc brakes which are known to be more effective at both stopping in shorter distances and maintaining control while braking. If wear indicators are heard scraping against the rear brake rotor, stop by or call us immediately. The wear indicators are metal clips that alert the driver when the brake pads have reached a critical level of wear. At this point, it will be necessary to have the rear brake pads replaced to prevent brake failure and damage to the rotors.
Absent noise and braking issues, we recommend having your front brakes serviced every 20-30K miles and your rear brakes services every 50-60K miles, depending upon your individual driving style. Repair will always include new pads, but may include rotors and calipers. To preserve the health and safety of your braking system, it is always important to be very alert to changes in braking sound and performance. Any delay can ultimately result in higher repair cost as the pads may run thin and damage the rotor. The cost for our services is for pads including X specific models. Rotor replacement runs X and turning of rotors is X. Caliper repair and replacement runs X.
