We never forget that our long term and future customers have many automotive repair shops to choose from when looking for the best automotive repair shop for reliable, professional and affordable brake service or repair. We couldn’t be happier with our stellar twenty five year reputation in the greater Los Angeles area. If you are researching the best place to take your car for brake service or repair, check out our Fixcarnow reviews on Yelp and Google. You’ll see why our customers trust and love us!
In the stop-and-go traffic of Los Angeles, a healthy brake system is arguably your best defensive option against collisions. You’ve got to be able to brake quickly and reliably when that driver on the 10 or the 405 suddenly changes lanes without a signal – and miscalculates how much space there is for their car and yours.
While the braking system of cars has grown increasingly complex, there are several key parts to the braking system you should become familiar with and know to maintain. First of all, it is important that the brake pads be inspected regularly. It is recommended that front brakes be changed every 30,000 miles since they do the majority of the braking work, and rear brakes should be changed every 60,000 miles. Brake fluid levels must be maintained and should be completely flushed once per yer to clean the system of particulates. Brake fluid attracts moisture which in turn causes the fluid to break down and lose effectiveness. Additionally, rotors and drums must be inspected to ensure they are not wearing unevenly or warping. Some high end foreign automobiles have rotors that cannot be surfaced and must therefore be replaced if they become warped or damaged. This is an expensive repair that can be avoided by keeping your brake pads regularly inspected and replaced. Otherwise the pad wears thin and the metal then warps or grooves the rotor.
The mechanics at Fixcarnow regularly inspect the brakes when changing our customers’ motor oil. Therefore, if you are keeping up with your oil changes then you increase your chances of knowing when your brake pads or brake fluid needs service.
If you are experiencing any of the following, do not wait for a schedule inspection but stop by and see us right away. If you don’t address certain issues, you increase the opportunity for your brake system to fail and add additional expense to your repair bill.
